The Mother of All Sales
he United States will celebrate Mother’s Day this Sunday May 14th, 2017! In the United States, the origins of the Mother’s go back to 1870. During that year, Julia Ward Howe made an effort to establish a Mother’s Peace Day. Howe dedicated the celebration to the eradication of war, organizing festivities in the city Boston for years.
Anna Jarvis of Philadelphia began, in 1907, the campaign to have Mother’s Day officially recognized. In 1914, President Woodrow Wilson did this, declaring Mother’s Day a national holiday and a “public expression of our love and reverence for all mothers.”
